First Day of 1st Grade

Kennedy started 1st grade on Thursday, August 19th. She is in Mrs. Humphries class and LOVES it! Only 2 boys are in her class this year that were in her kindergarten class so she is having to make lots of new friends. So far her favorite one is Alyssa. The first day of school she came home in such a good mood and said that first grade is so much more fun than kindergarten! She is going to learn a lot this year. She will have a spelling and reading comprehension test every Thursday and a math test every Friday. She won't have a spelling list to study but will be tested on certain words that have the vowel sound and letter chunks that they are focusing on for the week. She picked out her outfit for the first day and had to have this new backpack that she found at the Hanna Andersson store in Dallas!

Today was your first day at church Laynie! You swang your whole Sunday School hour while Mommy and Daddy went to big church and then I came and nursed you and we went to Sunday School. You swang that hour too! When I picked you up you had just woken up and had a frown on your face but when you saw me you gave the biggest smile! You wore the dress Mamaw gave you at my baby shower and the pearl bracelet Aunt Carolyn gave you. You looked precious and we will have to get Mamaw a copy of your picture for her refrigerator! All you teachers are so glad you are in their class!

2 Months Old

Laynie today is your 2-month birthday! It has gone by so fast and we are enjoying every second with you! You are smiling and cooing a lot now and your favorite time to do so is during your diaper changes. You also smile lots in your sleep. I like to think you are dreaming about Mommy since you usually fall asleep while nursing and I am the last person you see. You love your big sisters and they love you even more and are having so much fun with you. Your favorite things are your swing and Bumbo, being swaddled and held real close and tight, taking baths, and being sang to. You are such an easy going baby and do everything we do. You have traveled to Seattle, Dallas twice and Lake Village; you have gone to the movies and Larry's Pizza twice, visited the library, gone swimming and accompanied Mommy to Target many times! You are a night owl and go to bed around 11 or 11:30 and then sleep until 4:30, nurse and then go back to bed until about 8:30. You take several naps a day in your swing. We love you so very much Laynie!

Kennedy's Photography

Kennedy's memory card was full so I downloaded the pictures she took with her camera Aunt Magan gave her for her birthday. Here are a few from her first photoshoot...

We took a trip to Lake Village this weekend so Laynie could meet Mamaw and the rest of the family. Proud great grandma! Laynie makes great grandchild # 7!

Laynie's first vacation

Laynie and I took a trip to Seattle when she was 4 weeks old so she could meet Cliff, Kristen, Jaxon and Maci. I could not have asked for a more perfect baby. She slept on all our flights and did not hardly cry the whole trip. After our second day in Seattle Cliff got traded to the Rangers so we had an hour and a half to pack and make it to the airport to go to Texas! We frantically packed and made it to our gate just as they had finished boarding the first class.
Shopping at Nordstrom's after visiting Pike's Market. This is how she was the hour or so we where at the market. It was so hot, loud and busy but she did not let that interfere with her nap! After our shopping trip we went to eat at El Gaucho's and she slept the entire meal. She woke up just as I finshed my steak and I fed her and then we went to the Space Needle. She was awake for most of it!

We went around 8:45 which is sunset for Seattle this time of year. It was so pretty!

Sweet snuggle time with Jaxon. He loved her!

Kennedy is in to having fashion shows lately. It is always princesses and dancers but she surprised me the other morning as her Daddy! She even put on his underwear, one of his watches and got his Bible. It was so sweet!
